Skillset

I currently work on a full time basis for a large UK based global radio and media corporation. In this role I am responsible for all aspects of graphic design, front end web design and front end UI design for our Android and IOS apps. I work closely with our head software specialist, editor and senior management on all aspects of branding (merchandising, billboards, logo, advertising and online).

Due to the nature of our business I have also been involved in the design of websites and merchandising for some of our partners, including some of the UK’s largest music festivals such as the Download Festival and Sonisphere.

I can be contracted to work freelance, and in this capacity I have built many websites for many different clients, ranging from record labels based in both L.A and the UK, to small photography websites and various other small business websites for clients locally. I also do photo retouching for private clients.

Recently I have been contracted to design press ads for a UK law firm, develop a site and logo design for a new Scottish IT start up company and supply graphics for the NATO website (North Atlantic Treaty Organization)

Portfolio

After University (I studied Computer Science for two semesters before changing my degree to Biochemistry) I worked in the Chemical Industry for 5 years, where I was involved in Research & Development. In 2008 my career path changed drastically when the rock band, of which I was a guitarist and founder member, became a professional entity. During the following years I was exposed to the inner guts of the media/entertainment industry.

I have lived and worked in L.A, shot music videos in Hollywood and recorded albums with Grammy winning Producers. I have toured relentlessly in America, the UK and all over Europe, played stadiums with bands such as Bon Jovi and participated in countless radio, TV, newspaper and magazine interviews all over the world. I have even hosted my own radio show.

It was during these years, and the many hours spent traveling, waiting around in venues and sitting in endless hotel rooms, that I took my passion for all things digital media related, and developed skills I could use when the roller coaster ride of the music industry inevitably ended.

Through a mixture of learning from some of the great people I have worked with, online study, and my own persistence and determination, I have become skilled in a wide variety of disciplines ranging from all aspects of Adobe Photoshop to Video Editing, Motion Graphics, VFX, Audio Editing and Mixing. I can also code in HTML, CSS, PHP and I have MySQL database experience.
